Serial Yogger

Axelle Roucou was still a journalist when in New Zealand she discovered hot yoga: it was a reve- lation. She trained in California, India, and Bali, then came back to France and started teaching. Today she gives classes, workshops, and retreats in Blangy-le-Château.

For Axelle, yoga is transformative. “You abandon yourself on the mat, you gain self-esteem, and you let go, in full awareness. You have more energy while releasing tension. You find your values again,” she says. She practices yoga in the great outdoors or in a more nomadic fashion with her Volkswagen Combi customized for events, team building, festivals, brand launches, and more. Axelle also has a studio, The Yoga Barn, with a panoramic view on nature, where she holds classes and retreats. These stays take place over three days in all seasons and can combine yoga with other disciplines, like collabo- rating with a massage therapist. Axelle works often with feminine yoga, a practice that promotes the production of female hormones.
