It’s been 20 years since Christophe Rothacker took over an old garden centre of 280 m2 in Bonneville-la-Louvet to make his studio and a vast showroom. Here, a fastidious and passionate artisan restores old furniture pieces to bring them up to date with today’s tastes under the glass windows that give the place its name. Restoration, decoration, guidance and sales are at the heart of his profession. Among the major pieces are craft furniture, coffee tables, bookshelves, lamps and old mirrors. While bargain-hunting in fairs, antique shops and car boot sales, Christophe falls in love with special pieces that are then transformed in his showroom, “having imagined right away how he could reinvent them.” Don’t miss his own creations, in metal and in wood, made from old furniture.
