A native of the Pays d’Auge, Éléonore Chalmin has as much experience in auctions as she has a taste for freedom. With her associate Olivier Collin du Bocage, a well-known French auctioneer, she created Liberté Enchères, where you can bid for objects, paintings and furniture at the heart of the Norman properties they originate from. The company owes its name, Freedom Auction in English, to the fact they have no auction house or warehouse, no handling equipment or shipping costs. “The team display the goods for sale for two days onsite, after having taken inventory, appraising and cataloguing the items online. The auction takes place on the third day at the property itself.” The auction takes place simultaneously online for those who can’t experience the festive atmosphere in person.
